It has been around 5 months now since Souleymane Coulibaly left Killie for Egyptian club Al Ahly and things haven’t gone as smoothly as the Ivorian would have hoped.
Coulibaly lit up the SPFL with his brief stint in Ayrshire and his spectacular goals and performances earned him a £1million pound move to Egypt. To say he didn’t get off to a flying start would be an understatement as he reportedly failed to meet the level of fitness required by Al Ahly- both physically and mentally. He reportedly broke down in tears after learning he would not feature in the starting line-up for an upcoming game.
Since then he has featured for the team but only once- scoring twice. From the outside, it seems this is too rocky a relationship between player and club for the transfer to be salvaged and Coulibaly is likely to move on.
Despite his recent turmoil, Souleymane is seemingly staying positive, taking to his Twitter to address fans’ concerns.
Good luck to him and hopefully he knows he’s always welcome back at Killie!
Always smile and be positive and stay strong
